Elena Welsh, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist (PSY 25996). Dr.  Welsh received her doctorate degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (a program accredited by the American Psychological Association) and completed advanced clinical training through a postdoctoral fellowship at Gateways Psychiatric Hospital in Los Angeles. As an author, Dr. Welsh specializes in science-informed self-help books and has also published articles in various medical and research journals. She is passionate about making mental health tools and services and accessible and relatable and engages in talks and consultation aimed at cultivating mentally healthy communities and organizations.

In therapy, Dr. Welsh utilizes scientifically-based therapeutic techniques in a compassionate and flexible way that is individualized for your unique needs and goals. In addition to simply helping people live authentic, rich lives, Dr. Welsh works with a wide range of anxiety, mood, and depressive disorders, including bipolar disorder, major depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder/trauma-related mental health issues. Dr. Welsh also specializes in many issues specific to women, including fertility struggles and postpartum adjustment and depression. Additionally, Dr. Welsh works with individuals seeking relief from chronic pain or hoping to make a health behavior change, such as reduced substance use. She is  also available to assist if you are facing a difficult life transition or are simply seeking a more meaningful way of living.

Dr. Welsh also has specialized training in conducting psychological assessments for a range of referral questions, including diagnostic clarification, treatment recommendations, pre-adoption screening,  independent educational evaluations, or fitness-for-duty.
